Google releases a new stable Chrome version right on time

Google has just announced a new stable version of Chrome. There's nothing majorly exciting here -- it's your run-of-the-mill bug fix fest, along with a few other improvements:

  • AppleScript support for Mac OS X UI automation (How I wish Firefox had some sort of support for AutoHotkey on Windows!)
  • Capability to upload complete directories
  • Introduction of the HTML5 File API

It's fairly technical stuff this time around.

The new version also brings an easier system for managing which sites can and can't set cookies on your system. That's sure to be a welcome addition for those concerned with privacy controls.
